Welcome to our unique, small-scale family hotel and museum!
Our boutique hotel is located in the center of the beautiful dune village of Burgh-Haamstede.
In addition to the hotel, we have also been running a bakery (Bakkerij Sonnemans) for four generations. The hotel is located at Achterweg 9, behind the bakery. When you walk into the museum from the terrace at Sonnemans, you will feel like you have stepped back in "time".
The museum
While enjoying a cup of coffee and a treat (available for pickup at the bakery counter), you can admire the collection that the baker has gathered over the years.
The entry to the museum is free.
Tip: ask in the bakery if the baker has time for a tour!

The hotel
Above the museum are the romantic, antique hotel rooms. These can be reached after museum closing time via a separate front door with a staircase. Unfortunately, this is an old-fashioned steep staircase and is therefore not easily accessible for people with walking difficulties. We apologize for this, but we cannot change it.
Furthermore, the hotel has a peaceful, spacious inner garden where you can relax wonderfully.
In front of the hotel is the square/terrace of the bakery. Here you can enjoy the sun all day long. If it gets too warm in the middle of summer, our beautiful roof-plane tree (in the middle of the square) provides delightful shade.
Next to the bakery, there is another terrace, the "Tea Garden," where you can also spend the whole day. Opposite the Tea Garden, you can walk through the Dune Path into the Zeepeduinen (3 minutes' walk). Here you will find various hiking trails.

Breakfast
Staying with the baker.., this means waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread!
Per person, you will receive fresh rolls including a croissant, a cup of coffee or tea, a glass of fruit juice, butter, bread toppings, and boiled eggs. This will be ready for you in the Bruynzeel kitchenette from 1937 in the bakery shop.
All our bread is manually (with love) crafted. Our wheat comes from this island and is ground in Zierikzee by the windmill "de Hoop".

For hotel guests, breakfast is included.
Even if you are not staying with us, you are very welcome. The price for breakfast is then €17.80 per person.
